My wife, Carole, and I moved to Phoenix, AZ at the end of March, 1998. We both work for Spalding Education International, where Carole is Director of Certification and Instruction and I am Director of Outreach & Marketing. In June, 2000 I had emergency open heart surgery to correct one clogged artery. I recovered quickly and both of us are doing great healthwise. We have been married 35 years. We very much miss our family -- son, Jeff, and his wife, Michelle & our first grandchildren (sons), Kaeden and Dylan, and our daughter, Julie, engaged to be married to Darin Burley on June 21, 2003 -- as well as all of our friends in the Seattle area. We try to make as many trips up there as possible. Our goal for 2003 is to move back to the Seattle area. Family is important! And, we have had enough of 5-6 months of 100 degree weath...Expand for more
er! We would love to hear from former classmates and students. July, 2003 -- And now for the update -- We purchased the Huntington Learning Center franchise in Issaquah, WA and I became the owner/director on June 1st. We purchased a home in Maple Valley, WA, overlooking the 18th green at Elk Run Golf Course. Our home is 3 miles from our grandkids! Carole was able to continue her full-time position with Spalding Education, working out of our home. The wedding of our daughter on June 21 was a wonderful event and they have purchased a new home, so are all set with married life. It is so great being back in the northwest with family and friends. April, 2009 - The latest update: I sold the learning center in Issaquah and am director of a one-on-one school in Bellevue, working with students who have special needs in earning high school credits, as well as tutoring other students needing homework support. Commuting daily and working full days keeps me active and "young", although we need to start to at least use our yearly allotted vacation time! My wife is still working full time in her position and travels to the Phoenix headquarters about once a month. Both of us are turning 70 within the next 4 weeks. Our daughter and son-in-law have blessed us with two additional grandchildren -- our granddaughter, Makayla, almost 4 and our third grandson, Tyson, 6 months. I would certainly like to hear from former students and staff and look forward to upcoming reunions of the Bellevue schools where I worked.
